WHAT: In response to the number of home foreclosures in Tucson, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco is working with the City of Tucson, Don't Borrow Trouble Pima County, Fannie Mae, and Pima County to host a free foreclosure prevention workshop for homeowners facing foreclosures. The free workshop is open to the public and will include discussions on how to identify mortgage scams, the tax impact of short sales, and others areas such as:
- Understanding the foreclosure process
- Crisis budgeting
- Role of the housing counselor
- Alternative resolutions
Housing counselors and lender/servicers will be available to provide one-on-one consultations to homeowners. Attendees are encouraged to bring loan documents and other relevant financial information, including tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, utility bills, and homeowner's insurance. Participating lenders include Bank of America, Chase and GMAC.
