Free digital camera classes offered at PA Cyber offices

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A free two-hour class in digital camera techniques will be offered at Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School offices across Pennsylvania during the month of March.

The class is among on-site enrichment activities offered for PA Cyber students, parents, and friends. The public is invited to participate, space permitting. Class size is limited to 20, and minimum class registration is four. Preregistration with each office is required.

"All cameras, including those in cellphones, have lenses and use ISO, f-stops and shutter speeds to take pictures," said Fred Miller, instructor. "This class is for those who want to improve their photography by understanding how their camera works."

Lighting, composition and flash also will be covered in discussions and demonstrations. Miller said the class will be most helpful to those with digital SLRs and other adjustable cameras, but those with simple digital cameras and cellphone cameras can benefit as well. Participants are to bring their cameras.

Miller is communications coordinator for Lincoln Learning Solutions and advisor to PA Cyber Charter School's 170-member student photo club. He has used photography personally and professionally for more than 40 years in newspaper photojournalism, public relations and freelance photography.
