Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will demonstrate to parents and caregivers the correct way to install and use car seats, provide safety recommendations and answer questions.
FORT MILL, S.C., March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Britax Child Safety, Inc. today announced it will conduct a FREE Car Seat Check Event on Friday, March 18, 2016 at their North American Headquarters in Fort Mill, SC. Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to inspect car seats for proper installation and advise parents and caregivers how to choose the right car seats for their family and install them properly in their vehicles. The event, supported by Britax and local certified child passenger safety technicians, is free to the public.
Improper car seat installation – or lack of a car seat altogether – causes the death and injury of thousands of children each year. Approximately 96 percent of parents believe their child seats are installed correctly. However, seven out of 10 children are either not securely fastened in their car seat or are in a car seat that is not properly secured to the vehicle, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We know that car seats offer your child the best protection during a crash when they're installed and used correctly, so we've created a list of some of the most common misuses with quick tips for how to correct them.
