PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, March 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fredette Family Foundation, a charitable foundation dedicated to strengthening families through local educational and philanthropic programs, is proud to announce a new partnership with doTERRA International, the world's leading essential oils company, along with the Pleasant Grove community.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and our Pleasant Grove community join us in the Kindness Initiative," said Blair Giles, president and CEO, Fredette Family Foundation. "Our foundation focuses on creating stronger families by getting to the root of problems with students and offering help, whether that be lack of food, clothing, or the growing problem of bullying. This partnership comes at an exciting time as we prepare to expand the foundation's efforts to Pleasant Grove."
Currently in planning stages and set to kick off this fall, doTERRA will help the foundation launch the Pleasant Grove Kindness Initiative, an anti-bullying program that will begin in the community and schools throughout Pleasant Grove later this year.
"We believe in the Fredette Family Foundation's mission of strengthening families to create a stronger community," said Greg Cook, founding executive and president, Greater China. "doTERRA has consistently been dedicated to improving communities both here and abroad through the work of the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation. This partnership gives us an incredible opportunity to give back and make a positive impact in Pleasant Grove. We are excited to work together in strengthening an already great community."
Since 2012, the Fredette Family Foundation has worked with Provo City and the Provo City School District introducing a "culture of kindness" in Provo schools. Eighteen schools in Provo began the school program, an anti-bullying initiative that encourages students to be kind and respectful towards others at school, and perform acts of kindness. Students from Brigham Young University and other community partners volunteer at the schools each month to help organize kindness assemblies with student counselors and teachers. Since the culture of kindness began in Provo, the foundation has grown to serve over 20,000 youth and families in local schools.
"Giving back to our communities by building and creating a safe and welcoming environment for children is very important to me and my family," said Jimmer Fredette. "I appreciate all of the support from everyone helping bring this initiative to life and for companies such as doTERRA for providing us with the tools to integrate the Kindness Initiative into Pleasant Grove. I look forward to seeing the good that comes out of this partnership in the near future."
