Brown's distinguished healthcare career includes two decades of leadership at hospitals and health organizations in the St. Louis area. He is former Chairman of The Joint Commission Board of Commissioners, founding president and CEO of BJC HealthCare, past Chairman of the American Hospital Association and was recently inducted into the Health Care Hall of Fame by Modern Healthcare, a nationally recognized healthcare business publication.

Brown is past President of the Washington University Medical Center, a past Governor and Regent of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a past Chairman for the American Protestant Health Association, the Missouri Hospital Association and the Chancellor's Council of the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
He has received numerous awards and honors from organizations such as the American Hospital Association, the American College of Chaplains, the American College of Healthcare Executives, B'nai B'rith, the Boy Scouts of America, The George Washington University, Sigma Chi Fraternity, the United Way, the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and the National Kidney Foundation.
In addition to his degree in psychology from Northwestern University, Brown holds an MBA degree from The George Washington University with a major in health care administration and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
