WASHINGTON, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tomorrow, Family Research Council's Marriage & Religion Research Institute (MARRI) will release its second annual Index of Family Belonging and Rejection. The first Index found that less than 50 percent of American children reach adulthood having grown up in an intact family. Statistics are based on the Census Bureau's American Community Survey. The study rank-orders all 50 states and the 25 largest cities.

This year's Index also delves into the issues of poverty, educational attainment and teenage out of wedlock births in relation to state Index scores.
