Of the super committee Perkins said:
"Congress should oppose any tax increases, either imposed by the super committee or supposedly mandated once the super committee ultimately fails.
"Tax hikes will weaken an economy already reeling from high unemployment, costly regulation, and already high tax rates. We need economic growth, and the way to get there is not to bleed an already struggling patient."
WHAT: News conference warning Republicans against rolling over on tax increases as part of any super committee deal. Conservatives are reissuing the warning that raising taxes loses elections, just as they correctly warned George H.W. Bush after he broke his tax pledge in 1991.

Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council
L. Brent Bozell III, Chairman, ForAmerica
Tim Phillips, President, Americans for Prosperity
Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator, Tea Party Patriots
