WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council President and Marine Corps veteran Tony Perkins released the following statement in response to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision to place a temporary hold on Judge Virginia Phillip's order that the military must stop enforcing the law on open homosexuality in the Armed Services.

"Even the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals recognizes the overreach of Judge Virginia Phillips' decision forcing the military to embrace homosexuality. There is no room for judicial activism when it comes to national security.

"In the middle of two wars, it's wrong to treat the military as a political yo-yo. Every American should find it offensive that Judge Phillips and liberal politicians would use the military to advance their radical social agenda. The military should be allowed to complete its review process and then Congress should hold comprehensive hearings regarding the military's report. Until that time, the military should be left alone so it can fulfill its mission to defend our country and our allies," concluded Perkins.
