FRC Action PAC Praises Alaska's Vote for Parental Rights Ballot Measure, Senate Candidate Joe Miller
WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- FRC Action PAC, the political action committee connected to Family Research Council Action, praised Alaska's voters for affirming the right of parents to be notified should their minor daughter seek an abortion. The measure passed by a 55-45 percent margin.
Alaskan voters not only turned out to support Ballot Measure 2, but many of them also supported FRC Action PAC-endorsed candidate Joe Miller over incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski.
FRC Action PAC Chairman Tony Perkins had the following comments:
"FRC Action PAC is pleased that Alaska will join 34 other states with laws that reaffirm parents' unique role as the decision maker in the life of their child. States that have enacted parental involvement laws such as Alaska have seen their abortion rates fall by an average of about 13.6 percent.
"We are also pleased to see that Joe Miller appears to have won the GOP Senate nomination. Joe Miller will be a voice on issues strengthening families and protecting the unborn. As a military veteran and a former state judge and federal magistrate, Joe has the experience and the convictions to be a strong defender of the Constitution and the principles of faith, family and freedom.
"We applaud Alaskan pro-lifers for their hard work to pass this important parental rights measure and for their crucial support for Joe Miller, a pro-life, pro-family candidate."
