FRC Action PAC Launches Radio Ad Campaign Calling Out Rep. Bart Stupak's Vote for Federal Funding of Abortion in the Health Care Bill
PAC Plans Half Million Dollar Campaign, '20 in '10,' Against Twenty Former 'Pro-Life' Democrats
WASHINGTON, April 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, FRC Action PAC launched a radio advertising campaign targeting U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) for voting in favor of President Obama's abortion-funding health care overhaul bill.
The advertisement debunks Rep. Stupak's argument that President Obama's Executive Order will keep taxpayer dollars from funding abortions. FRC Action PAC plans to spend $500,000 on similar campaigns in the districts of the 20 pro-life Democrats who voted for the President's abortion-funding health care bill.
The Stupak advertisement is the opening phase of the "20 in '10" campaign to replace these 20 Democrats with principled pro-life Representatives.
"Even the abortion industry agrees that the President's order has no legal standing – it's worthless," the ad says. "The bill allows plans to receive taxpayer subsidies to cover elective abortions. And it funds school-based clinics with no restrictions on abortion referrals for young girls. Plus, it gives $11 billion to community health care centers that could pay for abortions."
FRC Action PAC President Connie Mackey concluded, "If Rep. Stupak is going to open the back door for the abortion industry, then it's time to show him the exit door."
