Frank Morring, Jr., Senior Editor, Space at Aviation Week, Honored with Media Award from National Space Club-Huntsville
NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Space Club in Huntsville, Alabama, has bestowed its 2010 Media Award to Frank Morring, Jr. Aviation Week's senior editor, space. Each year, this prestigious award honors an individual or group that has made a significant contribution to public knowledge and understanding of astronautics and its impact upon our nation and all mankind. The award was presented to an audience of aerospace professionals, business and community leaders, and NASA and military officials at the Club's 22nd Annual Dr. Werhner von Braun Memorial Dinner on October 27 in Huntsville.
Frank Morring, Jr., is a senior editor covering space for Aviation Week and coordinates space coverage across all bureaus and publications. He has been a journalist for 35 years, specializing in aerospace for over 20 years. Mr. Morring joined Aviation Week in 1989 as a defense/space reporter. He began his career working for his hometown daily in Huntsville, Alabama, and moved to Washington, D.C. in 1979 as a correspondent for the Birmingham Post-Herald. He later covered the Cold War/Pentagon for Scripps-Howard News Service. Mr. Morring received a degree in comparative literature from Dartmouth College.
