Frank Family Vineyards Chardonnay Chosen Best In China
CALISTOGA, Calif., Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank Family Vineyards, a Napa Valley-based winery, was honored at Wine in China magazine's awards ceremony celebrating the publication's "TOP100 Wines Evaluation of 2013" competition held on Tuesday, December 10th in Beijing, China. Frank Family's 2011 Napa Valley Chardonnay was the third highest rated wine in all of the competition, and the highest rated American wine in the competition. Additionally, Frank Family Vineyards' 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon took 11th place with a Gold medal and a 94-point score.

Wine in China's "TOP100 Wines Evaluation" is an annual competition that brings together wine experts from China and around the world. This year's competition included nearly 2,000 entries. The wines were evaluated based on "sight, the range of perceived flavors, aromas and general characteristics (complexity, character and potential [for aging])," then given a final score based on a 100-point system. In total, 20 Gold medals, 40 Silver medals and 40 Bronze medals were presented.
