Framingham Broker Named Greater Boston Realtor® Of The Year
BOSTON, July 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On June 25, the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) named Robert J. Harrington, Broker Owner of Nexum Realty in Framingham, as the 2015 Greater Boston REALTOR® of the Year during the association's Annual Awards Brunch at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown.
The REALTOR® of the Year Award was first presented locally in 1957, and it honors members for their volunteerism and industry work over the prior 18 months in three specific areas: participation and service to the REALTOR® organization on the local, state and national levels; community involvement, including volunteerism in community service projects and membership and support of civic and charitable organizations; and outstanding business and real estate industry accomplishments.
Harrington has been actively involved with the REALTOR® organization for the past eight years. He is currently serving his second term as vice president of GBAR in 2015. A director and member of the Government Affairs Committee for the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) last year, Rob previously served as GBAR treasurer from 2012-2013, and is a past chairman of the Education Committee.
On the state level, Rob is serving a second consecutive year as Chairman of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Audit Committee this year and has served as a MAR State Director for the past four years. Nationally, he's been an active member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Conventional Financing & Policy Committee since 2011, and he served on the Johnson-Crapo Housing Reform Work Group last year.
Rob's civic activities include holding a seat on the board of directors for Mutual One Bank of Framingham, and he is the vice chairman of Advocates, Inc., a nearly 40-year-old human services organization that provides patient rehabilitation services and other assistance to the disabled, elderly and others to help them obtain and keep their homes, engage in work, and sustain satisfying relationships.
