Fox's XpressO-ULTRA Oscillators Now Available in Updated Brochure
The latest line of XpressO oscillators offer improved phase noise and reduced jitter
FORT MYERS, Fla., July 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions and an IDT company, recently published an updated XpressO brochure that now includes the full line of XpressO-ULTRA oscillators. The new generation oscillator series offers improved phase noise and reduced jitter for a wide variety of modern high-speed data transmissions with rigorous requirements such as 40 GbE and 100 GbE WAN/LANs, 16 Gb and 32 Gb fiber channel, 6 Gb/s and 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA storage and high speed OTNs.

Fox's latest brochure now provides data on the new ultra precision oscillators, including typical phase noise, jitter and a model description selection guide. The guide helps users determine the model number appropriate for their application by choosing between available options for output, package size, voltage as well as stabilities, operating temperature range and frequency. The end result is a semi-custom oscillator optimized to the user's specifications without trade-offs.
The literature also features a comparison of XpressO-ULTRA and the original XpressO oscillator performance to help determine which product family is most appropriate for the customer's application.
The new XpressO-ULTRA expands the applications of Fox's XpressO oscillators to a greater number of data transmission applications thanks to its improved phase jitter to 250 fs (12 kHz to 20 MHz) and in some models, as low as 100 fs (1.875 MHz to 20 MHz) typical compared to 750 fs typical of the traditional XpressO.
These configurable oscillators offer a combination of competitive pricing and improved performance not seen in other precision oscillators on the market. Available in only days for production quantities, the XpressO-ULTRA oscillators continue the standard set by the original XpressO series. The new product family also incorporates the same noise-reducing ASICs—developed exclusively by Fox—that offer the ability to select output type and supply voltage.
