'Fox Hollow': New Novel Shows That Home Isn't Always Where the Heart Is
BOGART, Ga., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Dorothy had always taken care of her mentally unstable mother, and all it ever caused was heartache. When she finally left home, she swore never to return. Now she finds herself and her young daughter on a plane back to "Fox Hollow" (published by AuthorHouse), the small town that shares its name with the new novel by Jillian Wright.
"Fox Hollow" holds fond memories for Dorothy because, as a child, she went there to escape her mentally ill mother. The estate was owned by her beloved aunt and uncle. When Dorothy was 15, they adopted her aunt's 17-year-old nephew, Malcolm. He was Dorothy's first love.
Dorothy had a romantic summer with Malcolm, but then reality set in. When she went home, he never contacted her. She was left to care for her difficult mother and little brothers until she escaped to college and met Stephen, whom she married. Her life was good until her mother came to visit and began putting jealous thoughts into her head.
Her mother liked to cause trouble and constantly pointed out that Stephen worked with a beautiful woman and that his close contact with the woman would make it easier for them to "fool around." Dorothy became jealous, but because she had become pregnant she felt she should stay with Stephen.
After overhearing her mother-in-law tell Stephen to beware of having children because the child would grow up to be crazy, Dorothy left without ever telling Stephen she was pregnant. She would not let her child have to endure the same stigmas she had grown up with.
Years later, Dorothy finds herself returning to the place that holds so many memories, good and bad, to handle the business of her father's estate. What is she thinking, why is she returning to Fox Hollow when her life is going so well far away from this place? Dorothy will soon remember why she left and regret her return to Fox Hollow. Follow her incredible journey in the pages of this compulsively readable novel.
