PLANO, Texas, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FourthWall Media announced today an agreement with Motorola Mobility, Inc. AirCommand is a set of cloud-based services connecting mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets, to EBIF-enabled set-tops. Motorola will package FourthWall's platform and AirCommand solution into Motorola Medios to further expand their multi-screen managed services offering.
AirCommand connects the TV footprint to the ever-expanding world of mobile, companion devices opening the door to entirely new media consumption experiences. The application possibilities include remote programming of DVRs; the ability to view and play on-demand titles; social media and messaging applications between mobile devices and set-tops; and cross-platform widgets, merchandising and commerce. AirCommand provides a scalable gateway for cross-platform applications powered by EBIF technology embraced by the cable industry. AirCommand leverages the EBIF common language to provide cable operators packaged solutions that connect all of the consumer's digital devices with a single solution. This fosters the creation of new applications while shielding developers from the intricacies of on-boarding individual television applications.
"We are thrilled to be working with Motorola," said Tim Peters, FourthWall CEO. "FourthWall now offers the EBIF platform for every major set-top type deployed in cable systems across the United States. Working with Motorola, we are connecting this broad EBIF-enabled footprint to their Android-powered devices through AirCommand. We look forward to a productive relationship with Motorola and collaborating on our cross-platform products that expand the Motorola Medios service."
