Four 'Firsts' for Auto China 2010; New Energy-Driven Cars Expected to be the Stars of the Show
BEIJING, April 23 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The biennial Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (commonly known as Auto China) opens at the China International Exhibition Center (Tianzhu) and the China International Exhibition Center (Jinganzhuang) in Beijing on April 23, 2010. Over 2,100 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions will participate in the show, which boasts 200,000 square meters of floor space.
Auto China 2010's theme "For a Greener Tomorrow" will promote energy conservation, emissions reductions and environmental protection. Four "firsts" highlight this year's event:
1. Largest Show Ever: Auto China, for the first time, will be held simultaneously at the China International Exhibition Center (Tianzhu) and the China International Exhibition Center (Jinganzhuang). All 19 exhibition halls and a large portion of the outdoor areas of the Tianzhu Center will be utilized. The nearly 200,000-sq.m. event will be the largest to date.
2. "For a Greener Tomorrow" -- Energy Conservation, Emissions Reductions and Technology Innovation: As China becomes a global automotive leader, R&D of new energy-powered vehicles is a major factor. Auto China 2010 provides a platform for China's brands, boosting the transformation of China's automotive sector.
The 95 new energy-powered vehicles being showcased at the show are expected to turn heads. Many automakers will unveil newly developed energy- saving, greener vehicles and showcase R&D and marketing of hybrid vehicles, and outcomes surrounding applications of energy-saving and emission-reducing features. The show combines the modern auto industry with the latest green technologies.
3. Record Number of World Debuts and Concept Cars: 990 vehicles will be on display, including 89 world debuts, of which, 75 vehicles are entrants from China's automakers, 14 from multinationals. Asian debuts include 41 from multinationals and 35 from China. Sixty-five concept cars will be exhibited, including 37 from the multinationals. In addition, 95 new energy-powered vehicles are expected at the event. Italy-based Ducati will make Asian debuts for two motorcycles. The cars being showcased demonstrate Auto China's philosophy -- high quality goods on display, full range of makes, and globalization of the sector.
4. Respected by Major Industry Players: The registration list shows that most CEOs and members of top management from domestic and multinational carmakers plan to attend.
