Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research Launches Search for Executive Director
WASHINGTON, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR), an independent non-profit corporation, today announced the engagement of Kincannon & Reed to conduct a nationwide search for an Executive Director to lead this new organization. The Foundation will leverage public and private resources to increase the scientific and technological research, innovation, and partnerships critical to boosting America's agricultural economy.
Authorized by Congress with a $200 million appropriation as part of the 2014 Farm Bill, FFAR will identify and support projects to catalyze research and development in food and agriculture, resulting in a more productive, sustainable American agriculture that helps meet the challenges of healthfully feeding a growing world. The Foundation will deploy a range of tools and approaches to advance its goals, including:
- Fund incremental research and development through grants and innovation challenges
- Build innovative public-private partnerships
- Convene other stakeholders and thought leaders to foster collaboration
- Develop human capacity to advance innovation

"A priority for our board is to identify our inaugural Executive Director. Reporting to the FFAR Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and establish and execute long-range goals and plans to catalyze innovation in food and agriculture. The Executive Director will play a critical role in recruiting other top talent to the Foundation and will have a significant opportunity to shape the structure and direction of the growing organization.
