Foundation for Biomedical Research Nominated for Emmy® Award
FBR's groundbreaking television show on breast cancer research nominated for the Midsouth Emmy® Award in the cultural documentary category
WASHINGTON, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Foundation for Biomedical Research (FBR) announced today its television show "SurvivorTales: Jen's Story" is nominated for a Midsouth Emmy® Award in the Documentary/Cultural category. "Jen's Story" is a 28-minute television program that follows the emotional storyline of a breast cancer researcher named Jen fighting her own battle with stage four breast cancer. It is the pilot episode of FBR's 22-episode television series SurvivorTales.

The Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced the nominations for the 25th Annual Midsouth Regional Emmy® Awards at a reception on November 19 at BMI headquarters on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee.
"Jen's Story" was filmed inside a Charles River cancer research center and also at Duke University Medical Center, where Jen is a patient. The program was first aired on WNCN NBC-17 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Paul McKellips, executive vice president at FBR, is a veteran of the motion pictures and television industry and directed the project. Beth Hollister is the executive producer and Rain Bennett served as the director of photography.
The 25th Midsouth Emmy® Awards will be televised live from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on January 29, 2011, where the winners will be announced.
