Foundation Aiming to Confront America's 'Silent Assassin', Heart and Vascular Disease, Hires Insider Media Management To Lead PR Charge
Heart Health Foundation's Medical Experts & Super Bowl Champion Spokesperson Keys to Campaign
ANNAPOLIS, Md., Feb. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Heart Health Foundation (HHF) (www.hearthealthfoundation.org ), which is dedicated to fighting heart and vascular disease through education and early detection, has selected Insider Media Management (www.insidermediamgmt.com ) as its public relations firm.
Insider Media Management President J.P. Hervis says this campaign will focus on the Heart Health Foundation's stance on heart screenings of all patients. "HHF believes screenings and education are the keys to fighting the country's number one killer and there are many in medicine who don't agree" says the award-winning, former TV reporter. Hervis adds, "That's the debate we will invite our media contacts to facilitate, utilizing the renowned medical minds supporting the Foundation."
"We were impressed by Insider Media Management's portfolio, expert understanding of the news media and grasp for the message and purpose of HHF" says Dr. John Martin, Co-Director of the Heart Health Foundation.
Insider Media's campaign will highlight HHF's Dare to Care program, which utilizes lectures, meetings with cardiovascular specialists and free ultrasound testing to help prevent cardiovascular disease. "We believe this campaign will help save lives and expand our programs which are now in 19 sites across the country and have provided more than 40,000 free heart screenings to at-risk and underserved communities" says Dr. Martin.
The Foundation's selection of Insider Media was also fueled by the South Florida based PR firm's extensive experience of working with celebrity sports figures. Super Bowl MVP Doug Williams is the Heart Health Foundation's Honorary Chairman. "Both our sports and news media contacts will be interested in interviewing Mr. Williams, a highly respected sports figure who has a real passion for the Heart Health cause" says Maureen Rowland, Insider Media Management's PR Manager and former top-level TV news producer. The firm's staff has worked with Olympic Champion Dara Torres, NASCAR Driver Blake Koch, NBA legend Rudy Tomjanovich and legendary football Coach Howard Schnellenberger.
Williams, who played for the Washington Redskins, will be a primary element of the media blitz for the Huddle Up For Healthy Hearts Event. The celebrity football game, and subsequent events, will help raise money for the Foundation's efforts. The fundraiser is set for April 10th at Naval Academy Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.
