Forty-Five Institutions Are Live with Ex Libris Leganto Resource List Solution

JERUSALEM, Feb. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ex Libris^®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the Ex Libris Leganto™ course resource list solution is now live at 45 institutions, providing instructors, students, and librarians with all the functionality needed for creating, maintaining, and using reading lists.

A banner year for the Leganto solution, 2017 saw a great increase in the number of Leganto customers. A total of 77 institutions in 15 countries, including two consortia—Cooperating Libraries In Consortium (CLIC) in Minnesota and the BIBSYS Library System Consortium in Norway—have opted for the resource list solution.

Institutions using Leganto resource lists have found that the flow of information and resources between libraries, academic staff, and students has improved dramatically. The libraries have become more central to teaching and learning while optimizing staff time through automated workflows. In addition, the Leganto solution is helping lower the costs of course materials for both students and libraries by automatically identifying resources that are available through the library, alerting the library of materials that have been requested, and supporting pay-per-use copyright licensing.

University of Denver Access Services Librarian Ryan Buller explained, "This is our first semester using the Leganto reading list solution. We are confident that students will enjoy the ease with which they can now access course readings, and we anticipate that the simple Leganto interface will enable faculty members to create reading lists by themselves. These benefits should result in greater usage of our library's resources and a lowering of the cost of materials for students."
