Fortune Names Transwestern The No. 27 Best Workplace For Millennials
Transwestern is the Only Full-Service Commercial Real Estate Firm to be Recognized
HOUSTON, June 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Transwestern today announces Great Place to Work® and Fortune have named the commercial real estate firm as No. 27 on their inaugural "100 Best Workplaces for Millennials" list. Transwestern is the only third-party, full-service commercial real estate firm to be recognized. The rankings are based solely on an anonymous survey of nearly 90,000 millennials.
While expressing his gratitude for this recognition, Transwestern's CEO Larry P. Heard said, "Transwestern's work environment emphasizes personal empowerment, which fosters a culture of innovation and teamwork. We ask all of our team members to be thought leaders, including our youngest professionals, and we are continually impressed with their insightful and creative contributions."
Transwestern promotes teamwork and skills development among its young team members through Young Professionals Groups in its major offices. These groups encourage team members to collaborate across service lines and departments and provide opportunities for young professionals to learn from Transwestern veterans through special speaker events. Additionally, Transwestern hosts holiday parties, year-round social events, wellness activities and paid training and skills development courses.
"Transwestern's empowering, collaborative and entrepreneurial culture serves as a significant differentiator for our firm in recruiting and retaining the best talent in the industry," said Transwestern's President | Americas Chip Clarke. "We are honored by this designation as we believe being the best place to work makes us the best place to do business, and our team members prove that every day by going above and beyond for our clients."
Transwestern and the 99 other winning companies were selected based on the evaluations of nearly 90,000 millennial-aged employees who were surveyed using the Trust Index©, an employee assessment survey by Great Place to Work. The 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials is part of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based entirely on employee surveys from published Great Place to Work Reviews.
"Companies focused on solid growth understand that it's critical for senior leaders to have an in-depth understanding of all their employees' experiences, regardless of their age, role in the organization or any other demographic profile," said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work United States. "Great workplaces are constantly monitoring and analyzing their employees' workplace experiences and then taking action to improve them. Ranking on this list is a great indicator that these companies' efforts to create great workplaces are resonating with millennials."
