CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- SleepScore Labs™, the world's most advanced sleep improvement system and solutions company, today announced the appointment of Pat Connolly, former CMO and Chief Strategy and Business Development officer at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. to its board of directors. Connolly joins SleepScore Labs after nearly four decades of leadership in a global, public company and brings significant e-commerce and marketing acumen to SleepScore Labs' team of science and sleep experts.
Connolly joined the board to provide expertise to SleepScore Labs' business strategy as the company expands its presence in international markets and the e-commerce space. With considerable experience in the direct-to-customer business, merchandising, customer information management and inventory management, Connolly will help SleepScore Labs augment its multi-channel consumer strategy.
"I couldn't be more excited to be joining the board of SleepScore Labs. The opportunity to improve one's health and performance through better sleep based on science is compelling and comes at a time when consumers are recognizing the importance of sleep in their daily lives," said Connolly. "The company has attracted world-renowned experts in sleep and sleep science to its staff and advisory board. I am honored to be working with them."
Connolly spent 37 years at Williams-Sonoma, the international leader in professional-quality cookware and high-end kitchen and home furnishings. During his tenure, Williams-Sonoma's annual sales rose from $4.5 million to more than $5 billion, and the e-commerce segment of the business grew to over 50 percent of total revenue. Connolly worked closely with founder Chuck Williams and CEO Howard Lester to take the company public and transform Williams-Sonoma into one of the world's largest and most profitable internet retailers. Together with Williams and Lester, Connolly grew the company's innovative catalog business, built its portfolio of brands and became an early champion of Williams-Sonoma's e-commerce and multi-channel retail strategy. Connolly first joined the company as vice president and later served for over fifteen years as chief marketing officer. Connolly served on the board of Williams-Sonoma, Inc. from 1982 until his retirement in 2016.
"SleepScore Labs is committed to helping improve sleep for every individual through science-backed recommendations. We're thrilled that Pat will be joining our group of scientists and sleep authorities to help us improve sleep for more people. His marketing and business acumen is unparalleled, and we look forward to benefiting from his consumer understanding," said Colin Lawlor, CEO of SleepScore Labs.
Along with SleepScore Labs, Pat serves on the boards of Canadian Tire Corporation, Total Wine and More, KEEN Footwear, and CafePress.com. He also serves as a strategic advisor to CVC Capital Partners and Scope Capital Partners.
