Former Texas 9-1-1 Emergency Network Deputy Director Joins L.R. Kimball Team

Kimball (www.lrkimball.com), one of the nation's leading providers of architecture, engineering and communications technology services, is pleased to announce that Sharon Counterman, former Deputy Director of the Greater Harris County (GHC) 9-1-1 Emergency Network, has joined its team as Delivery Manager, Texas. Ms. Counterman assumed her new responsibilities on March 28, 2011 and will be based out of L.R. Kimball's Southlake, Texas office.
In her new role, Ms. Counterman will provide tactical oversight and leadership to L.R. Kimball's project delivery teams in Texas and surrounding states. Additional responsibilities include the development and supervision of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control process, project delivery process and project review process. Ms. Counterman will also be involved in a variety of business development activities.

Ms. Counterman brings more than 35 years of emergency communications experience to her new position. Since 2005, she has served as Deputy Director/Chief Operations Officer of the GHC 9-1-1 Emergency Network. In this role, she directed day-to-day operations of all technical areas, including network infrastructure, database maintenance and modifications. The GHC 9-1-1 network serves two counties and 49 cities in southeast Texas, including the city of Houston. With a call volume topping more than 9,000 per day and service to more than 150 police, fire and emergency medical agencies, it is the largest 9-1-1 system in Texas and the third largest regional 9-1-1 system in the nation.
In addition, Ms. Counterman has served as Deputy Director of the Houston Emergency Center and has held several communications technology leadership positions within the Las Vegas Police Department. In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Counterman is actively involved in several industry organizations, including the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), where she served as President, Vice President and Second Vice President; Texas 9-1-1 Alliance; and APCO International.
