NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EY announced today that Gregg Berman, formerly of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Trading and Markets Division, has joined the Financial Services Organization (FSO) of Ernst & Young LLP as a Principal focusing on market risk and data analytics.
During his time at the SEC, Berman was responsible for quantitative research and data analytics related to the SEC's policies on markets and market structure. He led the analysis of the May 2010, "Flash Crash," with extensive exposure to front office sales and trading in the industry, in addition to leading the implementation of Market Information Data Analytics and System (Midas), which collects daily records of proprietary stock market feeds.
In his new role, Berman will provide financial institution clients with an even deeper subject matter experience in trading, operational and financial markets infrastructure for capital markets, structural reform, recovery and resolution planning, and Volcker metrics.

In addition to his leadership at the SEC, Berman was also a successful entrepreneur. He was a founding partner of RiskMetrics Group, which offered an analytics solution used by the largest buy-side and sell-side firms. In this private company role, Berman was responsible for business development and product management having built a strong name brand, broad industry network with both sell-side and buy-side firms, and deep relationships with senior executives.
