Former Reuters News Correspondent Jeremy Pelofsky Joins Ketchum's Public and Corporate Affairs Practice
WASHINGTON, July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global public relations firm Ketchum today announced that former Reuters News correspondent Jeremy Pelofsky joined the agency's Public and Corporate Affairs Practice as a vice president and media strategist. Based in Ketchum's Washington, D.C., office, he brings 15 years of government media experience with Reuters News and Bloomberg News, where he covered the White House, Congress and a number of federal and international agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
"We are delighted to welcome Jeremy to Ketchum's Public and Corporate Affairs Practice. Jeremy's background as a wire news correspondent for Reuters and Bloomberg covering a wide range of beats – including financial, corporate and economic matters, legal issues, foreign policy and political campaigns – will serve to greatly enhance the public affairs, media, issues and corporate counsel we provide to our clients," said Kathy Jeavons, partner at Ketchum.
Most recently, Pelofsky served as the legal and national security correspondent for Reuters News, where he covered topics important to the Department of Justice, including the Affordable Care Act, corporate litigation, cyber-security, and large-scale mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, he covered the White House under President George W. Bush and Congress' response to the global economic crisis in 2009.
Previously, Pelofsky was a U.S. media and telecommunications policy correspondent at Reuters, serving as the top beat reporter covering topics related to the Federal Communications Commission, including media ownership legislation and rulemaking, corporate mergers, industry bankruptcies and wireless airwaves auctions. He reported on numerous congressional investigations, including Enron, MCI/WorldCom, Martha Stewart and Ford/Firestone. Pelofsky served for four years as deputy editor for the Washington team of Reuters correspondents that covered company-related issues and agencies. He also was instrumental in the launch of Reuters' 2008 political blog, "Tales from the Trail."
Before joining Reuters, Pelofsky reported on the International Monetary Fund and World Bank for Bloomberg News.
