Former PricewaterhouseCoopers Executive Joins Abt Board

BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- John J. O'Connor, former vice chairman of services for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, has joined Abt Associates' Board of Directors.

Prior to his retirement from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in 2006, O'Connor was responsible for the firm's audit, tax and advisory business lines, with combined revenues of $7 billion and 28,000 employees in 90 offices. He was a partner at the firm for 24 years of his 33-year career there.

Over the course of his career at PwC, O'Connor served as the leader of the firm's U.S. audit practice, and prior to this was the managing partner of the company's Boston office. He also served as the International Liaison for the company's Korean and Japanese offices, where he was responsible for overseeing their integration into the practice.

O'Connor serves on several corporate and non-profit boards, including the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Harvard Medical Collaborative.  More than half of Abt's revenue is from the health market.

He holds a B.A. from Suffolk University in Boston and attended the Harvard Business School's Leadership in Professional Service Firms program and the executive M.B.A. program at the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
