Former Partner, Management Committee Member Returns to Vinson & Elkins

HOUSTON, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Walter Stuart, an accomplished litigator and former firm leader, is returning to Vinson & Elkins as a partner in the global firm's Houston office.

Stuart had been with V&E for 21 years prior to joining Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York five years ago. While at V&E, Stuart distinguished himself in a number of high profile cases, including cases involving claims against officers and directors of publicly traded companies, suits against financial institutions, and shareholder litigation throughout the country. Stuart also served as a firm leader, sitting on the firm's management committee and heading its New York office. While at Freshfields, Stuart handled international litigation and ICC arbitrations involving European, U.S. and Latin American assets, as well as major litigation against banks, price-fixing cases and disputes over bond offerings.
