Former Ohio Tax Commissioner Applauds Kasich Appointment
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Ohio Tax Commissioner Thomas M. Zaino applauded Governor-elect John Kasich's decision to appoint Joseph W. Testa as Ohio's next Tax Commissioner.
Zaino served as state tax commissioner while Testa was Franklin County Auditor and they worked together on several important tax issues. "Mr. Testa's experience, integrity and reputation for fairness will be a great asset to Ohio taxpayers and the Department of Taxation," Zaino said. "He has a solid understanding of good tax policy and the importance of creating a competitive tax system that inspires business investment and job creation. Zaino was appointed tax commissioner by Governor Bob Taft and served in that role from July 1999 through October 2003. He is a lawyer and CPA and is currently the Member-in-Charge of the Columbus law office of McDonald Hopkins LLC and is Chairman of the firm's Multistate Tax Practice Group. Zaino also serves as a member of the State Racing Commission
