Former Levi Strauss Exec Joining Sutter Health Board of Directors
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Global businessman and local health care leader Peter Jacobi will soon sit on the Board of Directors for not-for-profit Sutter Health. Jacobi, a resident of Marin County, is a member of the Sutter Health West Bay Region Board of Directors. He assumes his new role in January.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the apparel industry, Jacobi launched his career at Levi Strauss & Company with an emphasis on production and merchandising. He furthered his international business career by assuming leadership positions in its European Division and advancing to president of Global Sourcing, president of Levi Strauss International and president and chief operating officer of the corporation before his retirement in 1999.

A graduate of San Jose State University, Jacobi earned a bachelor's degree in Business & Industrial Management. He served on a number of not-for-profit boards including the Levi Strauss Foundation, the Prince of Wales Business Leadership Forum, the Michigan School of Engineering, the President's Advisory Board of San Jose State University, The New Hampton School Board of Trustees and the Marin Theatre Company. He currently serves on boards for Crocs, Inc., a casual shoe manufacturer and the not-for-profit Dominican University Board of Trustees.
Comprised of community leaders from throughout Northern California, Sutter Health's Board of Directors oversees the organization's daily operation in serving more than 100 Northern California communities. Alongside the Board of Directors, local and regional volunteer-based boards independently advise each of Sutter's affiliated hospitals and medical foundations.
