In her former position with JCR, a non-profit affiliate of The Joint Commission, she led U.S. consulting services dealing with challenging patient safety and quality issues involving the adoption of new technologies, preparation for accreditation by The Joint Commission, infection prevention and control, medication safety, and the physical environment for which care is delivered. She also led the global service of Safe Health Design™ which improved patient safety for new healthcare facilities as they were designed and built.
At TeleTracking, Ms. Finis will lead the most experienced team of consultants in the patient flow category, all seasoned nurse administrators that bring a history of successfully combining process redesign with automated technology.
"We're truly fortunate to have a leader of Nanne's stature join us at a time when the regulatory environment in healthcare is in such a state of flux," said TeleTracking President Michael Gallup. "The experience she brings with her will be invaluable to our company, our clients and those yet to become clients."
She joined JCR as a U.S. consultant and also served as a Joint Commission International surveyor before assuming the Executive Director position in 2003. Beginning in late 2011, she was also responsible for the JCR Hospital Engagement Network, part of the Partnership for Patients campaign funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services which, among other goals, strives to reduce hospital-acquired conditions by 40% and unplanned readmissions to the hospital by 20% by the end of 2013.
From 1979 to 2003, she was executive director of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one of the nation's premier academic medical centers. Over her 22-year career there she held several nursing administrative positions and was operationally responsible for over 300 full-time employees and several in-patient and out-patient care areas.
Ms. Finis received her undergraduate degree in nursing from St. Mary's College, Indiana, and a master of nursing degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
