SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Skyera Inc., founded by an executive and engineering team with unsurpassed backgrounds in the solid-state, storage and networking arenas, today announced that former SAP Executive Vice President and Chief Scientist Ike Nassi has become the third member of the Skyera Advisory Board. He joins previously announced electrical engineering academics Tong Zhang and Ken Takeuchi on the Board to provide Skyera management with important technical insights that will help them continue to deliver innovative enterprise solid-state storage systems.

Nassi currently serves as a researcher in the Computer Science Department at UC Santa Cruz. Past industry executive experience has included positions at Cisco Systems, Apple Computer, Visual Technology and Digital Equipment Corporation. Nassi also helped start three companies: Encore Computer (symmetric multiprocessors), InfoGear Technology (Internet appliance and services -- acquired by Cisco) and Firetide (wireless mesh networks).
He has provided industry consultancy to several startup companies, startup divisions within established companies and venture capital firms. Nassi is also on the advisory boards of Northwestern University, Stony Brook University and Peking University. He has been a visiting scholar at Stanford, Berkeley and MIT, and is currently a research affiliate at MIT/CSAIL.
Nassi holds a Certificate for Distinguished Service from the Department of Defense and was a member of DARPA's Information Systems and Technology group. He graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics, and a M.S. and PhD in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.
