Former Bartender Sues Jackpot Joanie's for Unpaid Wages
LAS VEGAS, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A class action lawsuit has been filed against Jackpot Joanie's of Las Vegas, Nevada on behalf of their bartenders who were not properly paid.
In the lawsuit, entitled Littlefield v. Jackpot Joanies T.J., LLC et al., United States District Court, District of Nevada Case No. 2:16-cv-00471-JAD-CWH, the plaintiff alleges Jackpot Joanie's management regularly required bartenders to work more than 40 hours per week without overtime compensation as required by Federal and Nevada law. According to the filing, Jackpot Joanie's avoided paying overtime by tracking its employees' work at its various locations on separate payroll systems, and by requiring bartenders to clock in under other employee names. The suit also alleges that in addition to avoiding overtime pay responsibilities, Jackpot Joanie's required bartenders perform work off-the-clock.
