CLEVELAND, Aug. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Forest City Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: FCEA and FCEB) announced today that its Board of Directors has set the date of a special meeting of shareholders in connection with the company's previously announced plan to convert to a real estate investment trust ("REIT"). The meeting will be held on October 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time. Shareholders of record as of the close of business on August 31, 2015, will be entitled to receive notice of and to vote at the meeting.
The company also announced that its subsidiary, Forest City Realty Trust, Inc. ("Forest City REIT"), has filed an amended registration statement on Form S-4 with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") related to the planned REIT conversion.
