Forest City celebrates 10th annual Community Day

CLEVELAND, July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Forest City Enterprises, Inc. today announced that more than 1,000 of its associates will be participating in service projects across the country as part of the company's 10th Annual Community Day.

Each year, Community Day gives Forest City associates a paid day to provide much-needed support for more than 50 agencies and charitable organizations nationwide that provide critically needed services in our local communities.

In the Cleveland area, Forest City associates will volunteer at several non-profit and community service organizations, including Bellefaire JCB, one of the nation's largest and most-experienced child welfare organizations.  In addition, associates will help organizers prepare for the National Senior Games, which is expected to be the largest visitor event in Cleveland this year.

Associates from the company's properties and regional offices are also participating, giving their time to a wide range of organizations, including The Rocky Mt. National Wildlife Refuge (Denver), Habitat for Humanity (Los Angeles) and Yachad's Neighbor to Neighbor to Neighbor program (Washington, D.C). In addition, Forest City's New York office, Forest City Ratner Companies, celebrated Community Day early on June 20 by partnering with KaBoom! and local community groups to build a 2,500-square-foot playground from scratch in less than eight hours in Brooklyn.
