DENVER, Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Ford Motor Company Fund has awarded $50,000 to the American Indian College Fund for Native student scholarships through the Ford Motor Company Blue Oval Scholars Program.
Ten Tribal College and University (TCU) Scholarships of $3,000 per academic year and five mainstream scholarships of $3,000 per academic year will be awarded under the program. Eight TCU students must be studying science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or business fields. Four mainstream students must be studying science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or business fields. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in a two- or four-year degree program and have a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to students who demonstrate a commitment to American Indian communities or volunteer service.
In addition to its support for scholarships, the Ford Motor Company Fund also awarded a $10,000 grant to support the College Fund's 25th Anniversary Gala in New York City, which raises support for both tribal college and Native students.
