Fiesta sales pave way for Focus, showing hatches are hot again
The new Ford Fiesta, which began arriving in dealer showrooms this summer, is creating a lot of buzz in the small car segment. But it's also defying conventional wisdom about hatchbacks in America. Ford sales figures show more than 60 percent of early Fiesta sales have been five-door hatchback models – compare that to national hatchback sales of just 8.3 percent in the 2009 model year. F-150 EcoBoost set to challenge the desert
The award-winning EcoBoost will make its world racing debut later this year when a 2011 F-150 EcoBoost takes on the harsh desert environment of the world-famous Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. Ford will equip the F-150 off-road race truck with the same stock EcoBoost engine that already has experienced 150,000 equivalent miles of dyno testing and other real-world tests as the final step in durability torture testing. Ford gives digital marketing new meaning with Pandora campaign
Ford has a new campaign with Internet radio leader Pandora to show consumers what's possible when content, technology and worthy causes come together. Pandora visitors can use the social share feature to share a "mixtape" from playlists compiled by either Jewel or John Legend. When a song is shared, Ford and Pandora will make a donation to the artist's charity of choice. Ford's latest campaign on Pandora is part of a larger trend at the company to shift its digital marketing away from using primarily company-generated advertising that interrupts – banner ads – to a strategy that embraces and engages digital content creators to help tell the Ford story. more...
