SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Force10 Networks, Inc., a global technology leader, today announced that John D'Ambrosia, chief Ethernet evangelist at Force10 Networks, will be a panelist in a workshop that addresses "Beyond 100 GbE—Terabit Ethernet" at the Ethernet Technology Summit in Santa Clara, California Feb. 23-24.

D'Ambrosia also will be a panelist at the Summit in a tutorial session titled, "40/100 GbE: What's Happening?".
In addition to his Force10 duties, D'Ambrosia is deeply involved in IEEE standards bodies. He chaired the IEEE P802.3ba Task Force that oversaw the development and ratification of 40GbE (Gigabit Ethernet) and 100GbE Ethernet standards. Currently, he chairs the IEEE 802.3 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable Study Group and the IEEE 802.3 Bandwidth Assessment Ad Hoc Group.
D'Ambrosia will discuss "Standards Efforts Beyond 100 GbE" in the workshop. Joining him are chairperson Bruce Achkir of Cisco Systems, Daniel Blumental of the University of California Santa Barbara, Shre Shah of Xilinx, Arlon Martin of Kotura and Eric Hall of Aurrion.
In the tutorial, D'Ambrosia will address "Where is 40G/100G Today?—Looking into a Crystal Ball." He will be joined by industry analyst Michael Howard, Infonetics, Luc Ceuppens, Juniper Networks, Daniel Williams, Brocade Communications, Dave Schneider, Ixia, and Ed Frian, Gennum.
The Summit will take place at the Marriott Hotel in Santa Clara.
