LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercury Insurance has been named one of "America's Best Midsize Employers" by Forbes magazine. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Mercury (NYSE: MCY) primarily provides auto, homeowners and business insurance through a network of more than 8,000 independent agents in 11 states.
"We're extremely proud that Forbes has recognized Mercury's amazing culture and I truly appreciate our entire team for making this such a wonderful place to work," said Mercury President and CEO Gabriel Tirador. "Our culture is a big part of the Mercury experience, and knowing that our staff would recommend working here to family and friends is a tribute to what makes Mercury special."
Forbes enlisted Statista, an online statistics provider, to conduct an independent survey of almost 30,000 U.S.-employees working at companies with at least 1,000 staff members. The survey was conducted from September 9, 2016 to October 7, 2016, scoring companies on how likely their employees were to recommend them to someone else. The willingness to recommend one's own employer was considered the most important metric of the 35-question survey and one rooted in the theory of the Net Promoter Score. Mercury is one of America's top employers and one of a select few property/casualty insurance companies to make the list.
Mercury has also been recognized seven times by Forbes as one of "America's Most Trustworthy Companies."
