The top RSA Sandbox winners will be announced in April 16, 2018 at the conference. The world's top cyber security startups compete in the competition annually.
In the past five years, the top 10 finalists have received more than $1.1 billion in investments in aggregate, according to the RSA Conference. In addition to attracting new funding, most have also won new customers and delivered new products.
About ReFirm Labs: Named Cybersecurity Startup of 2018 by Info Security
ReFirm Labs uses proprietary technology to detect security vulnerabilities in the firmware that runs billions of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, consumer electronics and other connected enterprise machines. The company was just named cybersecurity startup of the year by Info Security Products Guide.
ReFirm Labs' Centrifuge Platform aims to close the firmware security gap exploited by hackers to gain control of or disable IoT devices such as digital cameras, home appliances, routers, servers, printers and other connected machines. These devices can be remotely taken over, destroyed or hijacked for Botnet attacks that effectively shut down or slow major web services such as Twitter, Spotify, Netflix, and PayPal. Distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks use infected devices to bombard websites and have cost some organizations as much as $22,000 a minute in lost business and remediation costs.
ReFirm Labs received $1.5 million in initial funding from DataTribe last November. It has been featured in Fortune Magazine, Washington Post and Fox News for its Firmware Vulnerability report that highlighted major, recently discovered security flaws in four popular consumer and enterprise cameras and routers.
