For Earth Day, Daintree Networks Kicks Off Its 2015 Energy Champion Awards
The nomination process is open now and in October the awards will be presented during National Energy Awareness Month
LOS ALTOS, Calif., April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Daintree Networks®, the leader in open networked wireless control and operation solutions for smart buildings, today announced that it is accepting nominations for its annual Energy Champion Awards. In honor of Earth Day, nominations are now open for the awards, which were created to recognize the efforts of those in the industry that are openly driving awareness to save energy by using technologies and processes to reduce energy consumption in offices, warehouses, retail stores, and other commercial buildings. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges from the industry.
The winners in two categories will be announced in October, as part of Energy Awareness Month. The Thought Leader award will be given to the person who has made the biggest impact in raising awareness for the need to save energy in the commercial sector in the last 12 months. The End User award will be granted to the individual whose efforts have reaped the greatest demonstrated results in terms of reduced energy consumption and overall energy savings within their company.
Danny Yu, Daintree Networks CEO said, "As an advocate of open standards-based solutions for smart buildings, we feel it's important to recognize both those that are championing the need to save energy and the champions in these efforts. Last year, Jim Sinopoli of Smart Buildings was named Energy Champion-Thought Leader. Ken Hagaman of Anixter and Ted Pinnow from United Stationers were co-winners of the Energy Champion-End User award. Congratulations again to last year's winners and good luck to all of this year's entrants. We look forward to highlighting the achievements of those that share our passion for energy conservation and the future of our planet."
The awards will be presented during National Energy Awareness Month, begun in 1991 through a presidential proclamation on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy to promote public awareness of the nation's energy needs and available energy options.
Nominations will close at 12 noon Pacific time on September 1, 2015. To recommend a candidate for an Energy Champion Award, visit daintree.net/energychampion to review the awards criteria and submit an online nomination.
