SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Foodily (www.foodily.com), the social recipe network that lets you share recipes with friends and search recipes from across the web, has announced the launch of the free Foodily app for iPhone. Foodily users now have easy mobile access to see the amazing recipes from around the web that friends have liked, cooked and recommend in a single, visually beautiful social news feed. With the iPhone experience, people can discover and share recipes on the go and keep the ones they like from any website close-at-hand. And, everything people save, share or photograph with Foodily for iPhone is automatically synced to the Foodily Facebook application and Foodily website.

Starting today, Foodily for iPhone users can attach a photo of their latest creation to its recipe online and post it to Facebook, where the snapshot of their home cooked dish can inspire their circle of friends. Offering even more cooking encouragement, the app's "Yummify" filter helps users snap a picture and have it specifically enhanced for a high-quality food photo. People can email themselves a list of ingredients from any recipe to make food shopping for that dish easier than ever.
Inspiration often happens outside the kitchen – whether at a local restaurant or a friend's dinner table – and Foodily's free iPhone app lets people take a photo of the dish, type a few ingredients into Foodily's search and find a similar recipe from the millions in the Foodily index to try their hand at cooking that dish later.
"Foodily lets you and your friends share and collect recipes from all over the web and now with Foodily for iPhone you can take those recommendations in your pocket - to the grocery store or a friends house. You can tap into any friend's profile and see all the food they like, recipes they think look great, find recipes you might like, or even take pictures of food you've made. With this release, food is even more fun," said Andrea Cutright CEO of Foodily.
In addition, the app will let people take full advantage of Facebook's recently announced F8 open graph functionality. Foodily is one of the first companies to participate in the initial roll out of new F8 features, with the ability to share what they are craving, making, and recommending in the iPhone app right to their Timeline. All recipes you save whether from a search, your feed of recipes from friends or people you follow – are accessible on the go and seamlessly synced in the Foodily Facebook application.
