Food Ingredients South America 2010 to Record 121% Growth
SAO PAULO, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The biggest Food Ingredients South America (FiSA) exhibition in 15 years has been concluded with a considerable increase in attendee numbers. 10,392 food professional from all over the globe have visited the primary event for the processed food industry in Latin America.
FiSA 2010 has seen the return of all the leading international suppliers, including Cargill, Bunge, Tate & Lyle, Gelita, Duas Rodas as a Platinum Sponsor, and many more. In total, 250 exhibitors have been featured at the show.
"FiSA is an event of immense importance, which functions as a platform for the launches of the food industry. The presence of buying executives and technical professionals makes it a unique environment for dissemination of knowledge and leveraging business," said Tate & Lyle sales director Ijones Constantino. In addition to the exhibition, FiSA conference was running during the 3 days, covering the sector's main innovations and trends with more than 35 presentations by senior executives and researchers from more than 25 companies and institutions, Including FORTITECH, DSM, CARGILL, TATE & LYLE and AJINOMOTO. Some of the highlights were the presentation by the director of Euromonitor, Scott Rencher, who spoke about the increased consumer interest in functional food. "People will increasingly be consuming foods with active principles for bone, digestion and heart health", and the presentation of Duas Rodas Industrial, presented launches for flavouring of products, further highlighting the innovations in food convenience and practicality.
FiSA Awards ceremony was held on the first night of the exhibition and welcomed around 300 guests. Beauty'in won the "Most Innovative Food Product of 2010" award, with its "Beauty Drink®", based on extracts from organically-grown fruits, which combines the flavour of these foods with the functionality of vitamins. CP Kelco won in the category "Most Innovative Food Ingredient of 2010", with its "Genu EXPLORER Pectin", a gel agent obtained directly from the peels of citrus fruits.
The next edition of Food ingredients South America will take place on 18 – 20 September 2012 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The unique summit, Health Ingredients (Hi) South America will take place on 9 – 10 August 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
