Follett's Aspen SIS Named SIIA CODiE Award Finalist
Student information system among top six in 'Best K-12 Course or LMS' category
MCHENRY, Ill., March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspen, Follett Software's student information system (SIS) with curricular and educational tools in a single platform, has been named one of six finalists for the 2013 SIIA Education CODiE Awards in the "Best K-12 Course or Learning Management Solution" category.
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 27 years. The awards have over 75 categories and are organized by industry focus of Education, Content and Software.
Winners in all 23 education categories will be announced during a special awards dinner on May 6 at the SIIA Ed Tech Industry Summit in San Francisco.
Last summer, with the introduction of Aspen Curriculum & Learning, the SIS evolved into a "one-stop shop" to combine Student Information, Special Education, Curriculum Management, and Instructional Resources, all in a single system. Combining multiple databases into one powerful and cost-effective learning solution, Aspen tracks class schedules, school events, overall student performance, athletic eligibility, and student health records. It puts digital learning tools in the hands of educators, students and families.
"We made our participation in the 2013 SIIA CODiE Awards a priority," said Simona Rollinson, president, Follett Software. "We are proud that Aspen is a finalist as it is a testimony to our dedicated team here. In addition, we want to thank all the judges who took time out of their busy schedules to play such a vital role in this year's competition."
Aspen has shown consistent and considerable growth since Follett Software purchased it in the fall of 2010. The SIS – with current national, state and Common Core Standards built in – is now in 137 school districts, more than 1,500 schools and serves nearly 935,000 students.
