WESTCHESTER, Ill., March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- North Shore Community College (NSCC) transitioned its Danvers and Lynn campus stores to Follett Higher Education on March 1, 2018, bringing affordable course material options, fresh products and innovative store designs to the campus community. The stores were formerly run by the campus.
With this new Follett and NSCC partnership, students and faculty at both locations will benefit from Follett's expansive inventory of affordable course material choices. Cost-saving print options include used books as well as Follett's text rental program that can save students up to 80 percent on titles when compared to purchasing new textbooks.
Follett will also offer affordable open educational resources content and courseware by Lumen Learning. Additionally, students will have access to a diverse selection of digital learning technologies, including the Follett Discover platform, that helps promote anywhere/anytime access to affordable materials within existing campus applications.
New store services include Follett's popular price match program, which helps ensure students get their materials at the lowest cost possible, and their year-round buyback program, which allows students to sell back their used books. Students will be able to use their financial aid to purchase course materials both in-store and online.
"As a partner in education, our focus is on helping administrators shape and deliver a rewarding campus experience," said Clay Wahl, President of Follett Higher Education. "For NSCC students, this means delivering convenient access to affordable course material options so they can be prepared to succeed in class."
"The College looks forward to this exciting new partnership which will provide expanded and refreshed products to our students and faculty members," said NSCC President Patricia A. Gentile. "We were the last community college in Massachusetts to run our own bookstore and it was time to move in a new direction. We look forward to what Follett will be able to additionally offer our community."
Beyond course materials, Follett will refresh the store's general merchandise offerings to be a one-stop shop for both classroom and campus life essentials. Customers can expect a custom product assortment that reflects local interests as well as national trends in clothing, gifts, supplies, technology and more. Exciting brands carried include Champion®, MV Sport®, Boxercraft® and more. The full breadth of products and services offered can be explored both in-store and online through www.bkstr.com/nsccdanversstore (Danvers) or www.bkstr.com/nscclynnstore (Lynn).
