Foley Hoag Partner Mark Barnett to Moderate at Solar Power Finance & Investment Summit 2015

BOSTON, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Barnett, Co-Chair of Foley Hoag's Energy & Cleantech Industry Group, will host a panel discussion on "Northeast Markets: Market Outlook and Analysis" at the Solar Power Finance & Investment Summit 2015, to be held March 23-26 in San Diego.

The panel will review the strong growth of solar installations in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, and examine the Northeast region's long-term plans for new solar procurement and incentives. Panelists include Jason Cimpl, Portfolio Manager at Sol Systems and Sripradha (Shrips) Ilango, Executive Vice President of Finance at Soltage LLC.

Barnett recently led the Foley Hoag team that advised client Soltage in a multimillion-dollar investment by an affiliate of Tenaska that will support Soltage's corporate equity growth and ongoing investment in new distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) generation projects. Under the agreement, Tenaska assumes a controlling interest in Soltage, with potential to invest in new project portfolios going forward. This investment will facilitate Soltage's growth trajectory throughout the next few years, with an expectation to deploy more than $250 million for roughly 125 megawatts (MW) of solar projects throughout 2015 and 2016.

Soltage is a leader in the development, financing, and operation of utility-scale solar power systems for commercial, industrial, and municipal customers across the United States. Soltage successfully installed 60 MW of new solar capacity across 16 projects in 2014, and has developed 30 solar energy projects with more than 75 MW total distributed generating capacity since 2008
