Foley Family Wines Celebrates Opening Of New Foley Food And Wine Society Cave At Roth Estate In Healdsburg

HEALDSBURG, Calif., June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bill Foley is pleased to announce the opening of the new Foley Food and Wine Society Cave at Roth Estate, located at 10309 Chalk Hill Road in Healdsburg. "At over 8,500 square feet, this cave will be one of the highlights of Sonoma County wine country. We are so excited to be able to offer this incredible experience to our guests who visit us on Chalk Hill Rd." Bill Foley, Founder of Foley Family Wines, said. Features include two wine cellars within the cave, beautiful French designed and handcrafted doors leading to the cellars, and an incredibly intricate ceiling finished with nearly 30,000 bricks. The back wall is open to showcase soil including volcanic tuff and ash. The tasting bar is modern with a unique black leathered granite top. The striking chandeliers were designed and made by Moooi to be "plant inspired" and represent the expanding, transforming and growing of new leaves.
The new cave will feature wines not only from Roth Estate, but also a select number of limited production wines from Foley Johnson in Rutherford, Chalk Hill Estate in Healdsburg, Merus and Altvs in Napa, Sebastiani Winery in Sonoma, Firestone Vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley and Eos in Paso Robles.
Saturday's Grand Opening event includes tastes of a special selection of library wines dating back to Roth's early days, tasting of barrel futures from Winemaker Leslie Renaud's new Roth Reserve collection, an interactive tasting and discussion of aroma profiles in wine, along with sensational samples and incredible tastings prepared by Executive Chefs Shane McAnelly and Ryan Freebern.
