CLEVELAND, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Founded in 1991, Hyland Software is today the world's second largest independent enterprise content management (ECM) software vendor. It is also an increasingly global company that is entering many new and complex markets. This sort of growth requires an evolving long-term strategic vision and someone to manage it. After five successful years as Hyland's sales leader, Brenda Kirk is taking on this challenge in the newly created role of VP of strategy. Succeeding Brenda as VP of sales is Nancy Stickney. Nancy brings a wealth of experience earned during her time with Microsoft and in Silicon Valley.

"We are very serious about becoming a global leader in the ECM market," said A.J. Hyland, president and CEO of Hyland Software. "This requires that our strategy continues to align with our customers' ever-changing needs. Now that we are in a number of very different industries and countries, and sell and service our products in many ways, this becomes more challenging. On top of which, we're in the midst of a rapidly evolving competitive landscape. Keeping us on our strategic course is a full-time job, and requires someone who intimately knows our business and the market. Brenda Kirk was our clear choice, and we're excited to have her leading this charge for us."
Under Brenda's leadership, Hyland's total revenues increased from $68.2 million in 2005 to $133.5 million in 2009. This represents a 96 percent growth in total revenue. Between 2006 and 2009, according to Gartner, Hyland's compound annual growth for total ECM license revenue was 22 percent, which was more than double the ECM industry rate of 10 percent.
Nancy Stickney joins Hyland Software after eight years and a variety of diverse roles with Microsoft. Her experience with the IT powerhouse spanned direct sales, partner management and services. In her most recent position with Microsoft as director of sales and marketing for the U.S. Central region, she led a team of more than 500 sellers across 18 states to three consecutive years of double-digit revenue growth. She did this by focusing on several areas, including competitive differentiation, market share, sustainable growth and customer and partner satisfaction.
"Nancy is the right fit for us, both for where we are now and where we still want to go," said Hyland. "She is dedicated to growing and improving our partner channel, finding new ways to drive profitable growth for all parties. Her dedication to delivering exceptional value to customers goes back to her time with SAP America. In addition, Nancy's experience with and knowledge of Microsoft, one of our strategic partners, should help us further that relationship. Doing so will ultimately benefit all of our mutual customers. Her unique combination of skills and experience are ideal for building upon the foundation we've created over the past 20 years."
