Focus on Energy Appoints Implementers for New Energy Programs
MADISON, Wis., Feb. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Focus on Energy, Wisconsin utilities' statewide program for energy efficiency and renewable energy, today announced the selection of firms to implement three new business energy programs that will launch in phases starting on April 1, 2012. The selected firms have a history of implementing energy programs for Focus on Energy and will be supported by additional subcontractors:
- SAIC International: Large Energy Users Program
- Franklin Energy Services, LLC: Comprehensive Program
- Franklin Energy Services, LLC: Chain Store and Franchise Program
Program implementers were selected by a bid evaluation team that included representatives from Focus on Energy's program administrator, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and a utility representative appointed by the Statewide Energy Efficiency and Renewables Administration. The process was open to all qualified bidders with winners selected based on their capabilities, project experience, program approach and cost effectiveness.
"Utilizing competitive market forces helps drive down costs, resulting in increased efficiencies for ratepayers," said William S. Haas, Program Director. "In addition, the new program offerings reinforce Focus on Energy's commitment to innovative, cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions that serve Wisconsin businesses and organizations."
This effort represents the second of three bid processes designed to select implementers for new Focus on Energy programs. Implementers for new residential programs were announced in October of 2011 and a third request for proposals soliciting additional program implementers is expected to be issued this summer.
