FMCS Statement on Tentative Agreement Between the Reynoldsburg Board of Education And the Reynoldsburg Education Association
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio, Oct. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service today issued the following statement on the tentative agreement between the Reynoldsburg Board of Education and the Reynoldsburg Education Association:
"A tentative agreement reached today between representatives of Reynoldsburg teachers and the Reynoldsburg School Board is a vital step in ending the ongoing work stoppage affecting classrooms in Reynoldsburg schools and returning school operations to normal.
"The agreement, which is subject to ratification and approval by the parties involved in the negotiation, is the culmination of lengthy and complex bargaining concerning a multitude of economic and classroom-related issues.
"I am extremely pleased to announce that the parties have reached a tentative agreement," said George Albu, a Columbus-based mediator with the FMCS, who assisted with the negotiation. "I want to express appreciation to the parties for their dedication and hard work during this demanding process and for their commitment to finding mutual solutions to the issues that divided them."
In keeping with its longstanding practice, the FMCS will not release details of the settlement agreement.
